By using steel profile systems you contribute actively to protecting the environment.

The Steel Information Centre in Düsseldorf writes: "Through its diverse fields of application, steel makes a valuable contribution to environment and climate protection, since no other metal is manufactured so environmentally compatible as steel. Furthermore, a closed recycling loop exists. Steel can be recycled completely and as often as required without any loss in quality. This saves resources and energy.

Recycling World Champion Steel is the most recycled material in the world. Even if you combine all materials, such as aluminium, glass and paper, which are recycled in larger quantities, the amount of the recycled steel is far greater. There were 530 million tons of steel scrap in the year 2008 – that is 60 times more than for aluminium recycling.

Steel is the recycling world champion by far "Further information can be found at:

A study on the eco-balance of steel The ecological footprint of steel is smaller than previously estimated owing to the multi-recycling properties. At the same time, the quality of the material remains the same in each new product cycle. This was revealed by a study carried out by the Technical University of Berlin headed by Professor Matthias Finkbeiner. It describes for the first time an integrated and comprehensive eco-balance method for steel.

According to this new methodology, the so-called Multi-Recycling Approach (MRA), all lifecycles of the material, including all recycling processes, flow into the eco-balance.
